May 27 – Portland Rail DMU train tour. Lunch is provided during the tour.
REGISTRATION FOR THIS TOUR IS FULL. We encourage you to register for the program on May 28 in Seattle.
The Cascadia Center has reserved a train car for the group so participants are not required to make their own train travel reservations. The group will depart Seattle for Portland on 501 Amtrak Cascades. Please arrive at King Street Station by 7AM at the latest for the 7:30AM departure. We will send out more detailed information regarding ticketing and meeting location at King Street Station. The group will depart Portland, OR at 6:15PM on 508 Amtrak Cascades arriving in Seattle at 9:45PM.

May 28 – Seattle Rail Seminar, Washington Athletic Club
We will examine recent developments in rail investments in the country and its effect on the Cascadia region. In particular, we will look at investments in freight rail corridors and diesel emissions reduction and new rail technology from self-propel diesel and electric multiple units to high speed trains. The event will run from 12:00-2:30p.m. Registration will begin at 11:30a.m.
