Corridors
In Central Puget Sound, key corridors include the paired East-West highways of Interstate 90 and State Route 520; the North-South pairing of Interstate 5 and State Route 99; the extended North-South corridor of Interstate 405 and State Route 167; and the more northerly East-West corridor of U.S. 2. In metro Portland, Ore., a critical bi-state corridor connecting with southwest Washington is comprised by the pairing of Interstate 5 and Interstate 205.

On the West Coast of the U.S., longer regional corridors include the Cascadia Corridor of British Columbia, Washington and Oregon; and the West Coast Corridor running from "B.C. to B.C." (British Columbia to Baja California). Along the Cascadia and West Coast corridors, different states and regions are working to improve long-haul road and rail networks and implement better technologies to ease congestion, improve travel times, increase capacity, and improve safety.
